I saw on Twitter the other day that the new definition of the word "racist" is "shut up." Racist is the word thrown out when the person to whom you are speaking is losing the argument, a.k.a. liberals. Morgan Freeman just notified the whole world he is of the belief the entire tea party is racist and can't get our black president out of office fast enough. I wonder if he heard the news yet that Herman Cain won the Florida straw poll in a slam dunk. I think what Morgan was trying to say is "I wish I were conservative because then I could be on the team that's going to win."
I love Herman Cain and I think he stands out and on his own in the Republican presidential debates. He's honest, plain spoken and firm. I find the fact that he won the Florida straw poll so decisively very interesting for a few reasons. First, he's a totally unconventional candidate, having never won elected office. Perfect. People are sick to death of career politicians, so that would go down as an asset. Second, he's a highly successful businessman and knows inside and out what makes businesses run. Third, in a sense I think his victory in the straw poll is an utter rejection of Perry & Romney. You know what I love? I love the unadulterated defiance of We the People. The media and establishment Republicans, who are very, super de duper smart and everything, keep trying so, so hard to tell us we need to pick either Romney or Perry--or Huntsman, depending on who you ask--and that we are advised to just put everyone else out of our heads. In case the establishment didn't figure it out yet, we're not listening. WE run this show and that's it. The establishment should have gotten the message when Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell told everyone Trey Grayson (RINO) would be the new senator from his home state of Kentuky and the people answered with, "No, we don't think so. We've decided on Rand Paul. Thanks for your thoughts, though!"
I can't help but strongly sense people are just waiting with open arms for Palin. I think she is very astute and is just waiting patiently for the process to work itself out and for the time to be right for her to present her candidacy. We'll see. This is such an exciting time in our country. I can't help but wonder if the energy we're seeing and feeling today is the same energy the Founders felt. I'd like to think so.
