Government = UNnecessary Evil

How did we, as a nation, go from barely any government to government so big it screams, "BUT YOU NEED ME!" as it goes away?  Really?  Cuz we didn't "need you" 200 years ago.  Pretty sure we don't "need you" now.  I'm really sick of government telling us how much we need it.  You know what government is like?  Government is like the fly that keeps buzzing your ear at 5 a.m. while you're still trying to sleep.  It's annoying for awhile and then you finally get up and flatten it.  hmmm.  That gives me an idea.
